C=HAPPY @ CHOPS CHICAGO STEAKHOUSE

09/05/2013 - As a MEATYSAURUS (my own way of saying MEAT EATER\LOVER), you can’t simply pass out the idea of having a sumptuous steak for a meal hence the first thing to do is slobber for MEEAAATTTTT....
After browsing and surfing we came across with CHOPSCHICAGO STEAKHOUSE (and yes, they have a Facebook page with complete menu items). They are located @ Greenbelt 5, 4th Floor.
OUR ORDERS:

1 Shrimp Cocktail (Old Bay seasoned chilled cocktail shrimp, grilled lemon and horseradish cocktail sauce) – 275Php
It was served in a cocktail glass with the shrimps hanging on the tip. A beautifully cooked shrimp that has a sassy snap and a clean, smooth, nearly fruity flavor. It is best to eat it with your fingers, dipping it into the sweet, spicy bright red sauce.

2 of 14oz. USDA Certified Angus Beef (grain-fed) – 1200Php each
Served in a chopping board as the name suggests. You can feel that the beef is of topnotch quality. It was served freshly cooked while cutting in the midpoint of the steak, an immense steam and sweet smell overpowers you. A meat melting even before it reached you mouth. The steak was cooked just the way I like it (Medium Well).
1 Creamed Spinach with Organic Egg – 90Php
Our anticipation for this one is way too high. It’s not dull but not lively either. I like the presentation though; looking at it reminds me of childhood toys you spent playing luto-lutuan. =)

1 Truffle Mac and Cheese – 90Php
Two thumbs up. The mac was cooked AL DENTE with creamy and generous heaps of cheesy sauce. Truffle Mac and Cheese is highly recommended.

1 Classic French Béarnaise – 60Php
Not quite sure how to make this but my friend had better.

1 Mushroom Truffle Demi Glaze – 60 Php
MY VIBES: Not the best sauce, better tagged this as fine.

ü  Ambience is good since we dined during dinner. It has a calming effect not quite sure on anytime of the day.

ü  Service is excellent. They fill up your glasses as soon as they noticed it was empty.

ü  Restroom is clean.

ü  The only branch.

ü  FREE Wi-Fi.

ü  Accepts credit card.

ü  +10% service charge.

ü  Total Bill 3000+ Php < HAPPINESS

The Side Story...
As we finished our meal and asked for the bill plus having final picture perfect angles of the place, I wanted to take a shot on our receipt as it turns out only 1 Steak was punched on our bill making it SUPER SUPER CHEAP. We asked for them to review as it seems they miscalculate it and they did!

So me and my friend are the GOOD CITIZEN that prevented a salary deduction from a crew.  We left with a thousand of “thank you” on our backs. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ...

LOST and NEVER FOUND

If you have been a foodie way before the word was invented, you’ll probably miss foods that are no longer available in this time and age.
Who are they you say?
Here’s the TOP 5 food chains that made me wonder where were they now? Do they still have one here in the Metro? I still remember the taste of my childhood as it seems that everything is big and places are way too far for my little steps.

1.     A&W Restaurant
This is where floats are generated or I believe so. I vividly remember my mom would always forbid me to take a sip of their legendary root beer float as it consist beer or so she thought. They even have an enormous play place for hyper children at that time.

2.   Texas Chicken
It was always a dilemma for us to choose from KFC and Texas Chicken but since Texas offers a sweet bun rather than pairing the chicken with rice, it always win our hearts. According to my intensive research, Texas Chicken is now named Church’s Chicken. There's one in MOA.

3.  POPEYES Chicken and Biscuits
As a keen devotee of their chicken I was really shocked that the next weekend we visited the place, it was gone as if it was just renovating and eventually gone along with my love. The question in my mind was “Are we the only patrons of this place?”,“Why is it gone?”. I know it isn't so since I often see long queue of hungry angry people to its counter.

It seems that POPEYES lost the effect of his spinach on a very crucial time.

4.Carl’s Jr.
Not really a Carl’s jr. baby since I’m not a burger person but we pass by it every week on Glorietta I think it was called QUAD at that time.  If I remember correctly it was located at the now NIKE store in Glorietta 4. =)

           5.   Cindy’s
Oh Cindy’s, I love their palabok! What a heartache knowing that there is no longer a Cindy’s branch anywhere here in MM.  My extra efforts were once again in vain looking for other branches and found out they have about 90 outlets and franchises none of which located near here. There are @ Baguio, Bataan, Bulacan, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Isabela, La Union, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Tarlac and Zambales. For a girl like me who has no provincial ancestral home, this is such a disappointment.

Is there anything you miss? I still have a few cravings in mind but they are products not establishments... =) like the mickey mouse sandwich ice cream!!!!! a hidden mickey I never found... T_T...

SIDE STORY:

I found a really cool price list that should have a caption of "BLAST from the PAST". credits to its owner.

I think this was on 1990...
