CLAWDADDY’s Great American Picnic

Another day... Another food... As I wake up I’m sooo excited since we are off to eat yet another a bountiful dinner...

OUR ORDERS:

Oyster Rockefeller 349 Php
A very enticing plate of appetizer, indeed it didn’t disappoint. The sautéed bacon and spinach with cream topped with cheese is just superb. Be careful in eating though, we still have a lot to eat.

Seafood Boil 1495 Php
The star of the night, this boiling bag is filled with everything. It has sausage, shrimpssssss, crabs and a bunch of seashells. I tell you, it feels like it is bottomless no matter how much we eat it doesn’t seem to have lessen at all. We even had some left for take-out.

Bacon Wrapped Salmon 545 Php
Everybody loved this. The juiciness of the bacon complimented the salmon plus the salad is not to be ignored as well. It’s a plate that makes you fall I love with every bite.

Tropical Malasugui 325 Php
I don’t remember having a malasugui before, but according to mom, “this didn’t live up to its potential”, don’t know if she is referring to the freshness of the fish or the flavor induced in it. For me, it tasted fine. The only minus in this dish is the rice accompaniment is way too oily.

Bucket O’Shrimps 995 Php
Another bottomless menu choice, what can go wrong on shrimps? We chose halabos (Clawdaddy special); it is simmered in ginger ale pineapple broth.

T-bone Steak 1249 Php
With all that seafood and fishes, the T-bone Steak brings in a different appeal. We appreciated it more since it was cooked as perfectly as instructed (medium well). Plus, the meat is the perfect to wash away that fresh sea taste not that I complain though.

ü  Restroom is clean.

ü  Wi-Fi available but you’ll be to focus on eating to remember checking.

ü  Accepts credit card.

ü  10% service charge.

ü  Total Bill 5453.80 Php = GREAT HAPPINESS

The Side Story...
This is the last week of our sister-in-law’s maternity leave and we celebrated it with food. The babies are half-way cooperative then gave a good wail just before we are about to declare pack-up. Here are the makukulit:

HONG KONG NOODLES AND DIMSUM

On one of my check-up days, my foodie doctor mentioned that there is a newly opened Chinese restaurant a block away from her clinic and she hadn’t had the chance to check the place out due to her busy schedule. As her patient, I try to help her out by checking it on her behalf (hahaha). It wasn’t a challenge to find it since it seeks attention from all the thunderous music they create.
My unfavorable treatment gave me a long list of my don’t eat record.  No fried, oily food, bread, green leafy veggies, coffee, tea and even milk. T_T. plus no fish and chicken meals.

OUR ORDERS:

Yang Chow Fried Rice
MY VIBES: It has a mediocre taste; the color seems perfect for your ideal yang chow fried rice. I’ll give an A- to its looks but not as much for its taste.

Steamed Broccoli with Garlic (ala Carte)
MY VIBES: It’s a bit pricey for its size and I’ll say I have tasted better. Checking their other menus, their rice topping are rather affordable and reasonable for its size and taste or what I saw on the next table beside us.

Black Gulaman
MY VIBES: My mom enjoyed her black gulaman but sad to say I didn’t have the chance to take a sip as it’s in the list of my forbidden food.

Pork Asado Congee
MY VIBES: It’s your typical congee. There is nothing special with it.

The Side Story...

We ordered 2 take out for our dearly loved doctor and she said she liked it.

Focaccia Restaurant

This is one of Mom’s fave casual dining resto. FocacciaRestaurant is an Italian restaurant located @ A.Venue Makati Ave, Makati City.

As you order, expect waiting minutes to be longer than usual but fret not since they serve their signature focaccia bread with the perfect pairing of olive oil and vinaigrette. For me, this is the main dish of the place... hahaha...

Our Orders:

Shrimp Scampi 280 Php
As much as I loved the shrimp and its oil, I think they served this way too oily. But hey, I still loved it. It was created with the perfect combination of garlic and parsley with butter and a hint of lemon juice.

NON SUGAR delight @ SUGARHOUSE

Sugarhouse serves one of my favorite sweet delights but that doesn’t mean they only have sugary-ingredient food on their menu. In fact, this is a place we go to when we do not want to munch the usual thing we eat (you know the feeling of lazy time and you’re asking yourself what to eat differently from yesterdays chow time), after much deliberation on what to have, we opted for the usual menu on Sugarhouse.

OUR ORDERS:

Spinach Ravioli 250 Php
As pasta is an alternative source of carbs instead of rice, we just love eating this one and having it as a healthy option. =)

Baked Macaroni 195 Php
I don’t think I enjoyed this. You better try their other pastas as this one below your so-so category.

Beef Salpicao 350 Php
As for the real meals, red meat is a good dine. The beef was served soft and tender as it should be and I just love food served with salad on the side.

Fish Fillet en Papillote 230 Php
My mom loved this one, for me nothing special. Hey! She loved it maybe you will too? Salad on the side was also served, a good thing as it adds color on the plate.

Tuna Melt 180 Php

One of the staple orders of my mom, it was delicious but not all great. It’s the taste of an ordinary food on very ordinary day.

THE SIDE STORY...

none... we were just plain hungry. these food are served for 3 people.
