Can Pizza Kill @ CPK?

Conventional pizza joint is always a comfort food but what makes CPK different? It boasts about bringing innovative recipes to life with fresh, high quality ingredients.

OUR ORDERS:

 Quesadilla 195 Php
Velveeta and Monterey Jack cheese, chicken, roasted corn and black bean relish, cilantro, jalapeño, drizzled with ranch dressing and topped with tortilla strips. Served with tomato salsa. For a starter, it really paved way to all of the food that was about to come.

Mushroom Dip 195 Php
Abalone, shiitake and button mushrooms oven baked with queso quesadilla and parmesan served with crostinis.

Portobello Mushroom Ravioli 375 Php (personal)
Cremini, Shiitake, Mozzarella and Ricotta ravioli in roasted garlic cream sauce and Parmesan. Love, love and love it.

Baked Penne Florentine 450 Php
Pomodoro sauce, garlic chicken, broccoli florets, mushrooms, baked with Mozzarella and Parmesan. It was good not quite the taste I was expecting but it was on the alright category.

Shrimp Scampi Zucchini Fettuccine 525 Php
Sautéed with lemon, garlic and white wine tossed with zucchini ribbons, fettuccine, parsley and Parmesan. It was light and refreshing definitely in to my calorie count.

The Original BBQ Chicken 245 Php
Their legendary BBQ sauce, smoked Gouda, red onions and cilantro transform this original to iconic. I have to agree this was L-E-G-E-N (wait for it) D-A-R-Y. If you’re not a fan of hand-tossed pizza, you can always ask for crispy thin crust and add 75 Php.

Mushroom Pepperoni Sausage 295 Php
Mushrooms, rustic pepperoni, spicy Italian sausage, torn basil, Mozzarella and oregano; they dubbed it as "MuPeSa" (mup-suh). I was disappointed visually but you know toss all that good ingredients bake it and nothing will ever go wrong.

Forgotten Pizza
I honestly forgot this pizza and what it tastes like. Oh well, it’s one those food that literally passed through your life that you have no recollection of eating.

Cranberry Walnut Chicken 295 Php
Grilled chicken, dried cranberries, walnut, celery, onions, mayonnaise, tomatoes and lettuce served with fries. I figuratively fainted when I tasted this; it was altogether savory, sweet, crunchy and green-y. I found my perfect sandwich.

Crispy Chicken 325 Php
A baby serving of chicken and fries; perfect items for kids eating tug of war style.

Say Cheese Milkshake 275 Php
Tagged as their must-try. Its mixture of mozzarella smoked gouda, monterey jack and shaved Parmesan blended with vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream and Nueske's applewood smoked bacon.

Red Velvet 275 Php
Now that the red velvet craze died down, I now appreciate drinks made out of the cream cheese goodness. Definitely a thumbs–up.

Chocolate Banana Smoothie 195 Php
My sis loves banana so no comment. =)

Pecorino Romano Cheesecake with Raspberry Puree 245 Php
The loooooonnnngggg name took me a short time to finish this dish. Yep, it’s THAT good.

Red Velvet Cookie Sundae 125 Php
I know I had the Red velvet milkshake but dessert is whole new different entity. I don’t see the redundancy of eating this in one seating so they happily reunited in my tummy.

The Side Story...
Back to the question if “Can Pizza Kill”, well technically no but combined with all these delicious fare its hard to tell, I was concentrating to burp - not barf.

HOKKAIDO TAKOYAKI

Hokkaido Takoyaki

Located at Ground Floor SM Supermarket.

Takoyaki is a ball shaped Japanese snack made of batter and cooked in a pan. It will be then sprinkled with the green laver(powdered seaweed) and topped with bonito (fish)/meat shavings.

OUR ORDERS:

Original (octopus) 99 Php
Original takoyaki consists of minced octopus inside the batter. This is the most basic and common flavor on your usual Japanese snack joints. I like this flavor better indeed nothing beats the original.

Kani and mozzarella (crabstick) 99 Php
An innovative flavor of takoyaki, made of crabsticks and yes mozzarella. An IT ingredients individually but it was bland for me.

Bacon and Cheese 99 Php
A perfect pair in every way. (I ordered this on a different day so no pictures sorry.) This one is to oily for me since I’m imagining putting oil outside then adding oil (this time your bacon) again inside and after some time all that oil sink in your ball of takoyaki.

The Side Story...
My magic hands accidentally bumped the two boxes clasped in my hands making the all gorgeous takoyaki messy and free spirited (wahaha).
A friendly reminder, takoyaki is best eaten hot but be very cautious of tongue burns.

V for KIMUKATSU

As I am writing this issue, I am craving for that fried dish. Did you know that (katsu) deep fried cutlet is eaten before the day of major test or exam? Why you ask? It is because katsu means to win or be victorious. =)

OUR ORDERS:

Four flavor Kimukatsu Set (1500 Php)
The set includes rice, shredded cabbage and your choice of Katsu flavors.
Boasting their 25-layered Mille-feuille-style cutlets brings you to a new world of flavors. Honestly, I want count the layers but hungry stomach is way more prevailing than curiosity and proof.

THE FLAVORS:

BLACK PEPPER. I loved the texture and combination of black pepper in the dish. Our table of three, bore a hole on it as we are praying for the food to be blessed.

CHEESE. It’s cheese people… nothing can ever go wrong. I loved it but I wouldn’t mind to have more of that cheese fillings. It’s a cheddar cheese filling maybe I would like it more if it was mozzarella.

UME SHISO. Tagged as well-loved flavor of females so I wonder why. What I know is shiso is a kind of minty herb so I’m expecting that (oh hate feel) of Andes chocolate. Upon tasting it, only half of my dismay was filled when I felt that tang flavor since it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting it to be. Try it maybe you’ll have a different feel and add up to the number of people who loved it.

PLAIN. Of course, you need to taste the original to set the standard flavor. The natural taste of high grade pork seeps out as I set it to my pair chopsticks to take a bite.

RICE SET. Served in a cute wooden container called ohitsu, the wood serves as the absorbent of any excess moisture, making the rice truly delicious. Imagine how hard it must be to clean it. T_T.

CABBAGE. This shredded veggie harmonizes all the fried goodies on the plate. I would definitely pass on the rice for this side.

Assorted Seafood Set (480 Php)
It consists of ONE Ebi, TWO Oysters and ONE Scallop. I really liked the scallop among the three but ebi is still on my all-time fave.

ü  Accepts credit card.

The Side Story…

WE ATE, WE GOT HOME and watched latest episodes of the TWD. This is life….

Burst your Bubbles @ TOKYO BUBBLE TEA Greenhills

A place for chilling or just plainly eat good food.

OUR ORDERS:

Beef Gyuudon (245 Php)

Your usual bowl of rice with beef and onion with shiritaki noodles simmered in a mildly sweet sauce flavor to finish of the look, a raw egg was added on top.

Strawberry Milkshake (145 Php)
This pinkish delight is altogether milky sweet and visually delicious. You can choose your toppings, bubbles (small or big pearls), egg pudding, coffee jelly, mango bits, red bean, taro cubes (nata) or vanilla ice cream.

Takoyaki (175 Php)
Grilled octopus-filled balls made of pancake batter, topped with mayonnaise, katsuobushi and sweet soy sauce. It’s pretty decent tasting but I’m not gonna order it again in Tokyo Bubble Tea maybe somewhere else.

Gyoza (125 Php)
Classic pan-fried Japanese pork and vegetables dumpling. I generally love gyoza but this perfect nibble dish didn’t make it to my fave list.

Fettuccine in Mango Alfredo with Chicken and Garlic  (245 Php)
Description and the actual didn’t quite met my anticipation in tasting this dish. I expected a lot of flavors and colors but it is not the case. It is your typical carbonara.

Penne in Bolognese Sauce (245 Php)
We enjoyed this one better. Penne is served al dente and everything is balanced with the flavorful Bolognese sauce.

TBone Steak (275 Php )
We loved it. The serving is just right and for the price of barely 300! The steak is served with rice plus egg and to finish it off with the tasty and all colorful side salad.

Fisherman’s Bucket (325 Php)
Served in a bucket, variety of ebi tempura, breaded fish and a generous serving of shrimps.

Beef Ramen (268 Php)
Slices of beef not the best noodle dish but still perfect for the post Christmas cold mist lingering feel.

Seafood Korokke
Potato and mixed seafood croquettes. This fried food roll is good for appetizers or just simply serve as your nibblers.

Mocha Sansrival (105 Php)
Layers of cashew meringue wafers filled with mocha buttercream and sprinkled with chopped cashews. Love it and would want more.

Mango Cheesecake (105 Php)
Delightfully blended cheesecake with bits of fresh mangoes, on a crust of crushed grahams, enjoyably good and charmingly superior.

 Midnight Opera (115 Php)
Thin layers of chocolate and vanilla sponge topped with rich chocolate ganache.

CITY BUFFET

It’s always a tough one to give an extensive description in a buffet since everything varies from time and the number of people at that moment.

As for City Buffet , they have a large selection of Japanese fare and a lot of desserts. Almost two sections are dedicated to desserts including cakes, pudding, candies and the undying choco fountain.

What better way to explain everything as they say "pictures mean a thousand words". Don't you agree?
